The whole territory of Lepsinsk is located in alpine area, on southern slopes of Jungar Alatau ridge with a lot of small rivers and streams. It is absolutely untouched nature: snowy mountains, forests, alpine meadows and flowering hills. Real mountain honey is produced by people on local apiaries; you could buy this delicious bee product for a low price.
Experienced guides will help you chose the best option out of different hiking routes, will ensure your safety and will share their knowledge about local nature.
Hiking routes of different category of difficulty, from 1 to 10 days long can be arranged. Maximum number of people in a group is 8. You can rent equipment (tents, backpacks, sleeping bags) and also a horse for transportation of load and products.
Zhasylkol Lake is the best place for 2-3 days hiking trip. It has formed many years ago, when river has been blocked by a landslide. The lake is located in the mountains at an altitude of about 1,600 meters; it is not difficult to get to it in 1 day. You can come back or continue your trip the next day. It is your own choice, there are plenty of opportunities!

How to get there
It is better to get from Almaty to Ust-Kamenogorsk by the following way: by train from Almaty to Semipalatinsk, to Zhangiz-Tobe station, and from there by taxi to get to Ust-Kamenogorsk.
Almaty-Zhangiz-Tobe
Train from Almaty to Semipalatinsk departs from Almaty-2 train station every day at 19:50 and arrives to Zhangiz-Tobe station at 11:28 in the morning the next day.
From Almaty-1 station, train from Almaty to Novosibirsk departs at 13:30 and arrives to Zhangiz-Tobe station at 8:17 in the morning the next day.
Zhangiz-Tobe-Ust-Kamenogorsk
There are taxis to Ust-Kamenogorsk standing on Zhangiz-Tobe station or you can get a bus.
Ust-Kamenogorsk-Ridder
From Ust-Kamenogorsk to Ridder you can get a taxi (travel time 1 hour 30 minutes), or take a bus, which departs from station every hour (travel time 3 hours).
