300 km from Almaty in the spurs of the Kungei Alatau Ridge there are high-mountainous Kolsaisky Lakes.

There are three lakes Kolsaj-1 (1700 m), Kolsaj - 2 (2252 m) and Kolsaj - 3 (2650 m). All lakes have crystal-clear water and imperial fish - trout. There are rich mushroom woods around with a lot of wild strawberries and raspberries.

Nearby the Kaindy Lake there is a yurta camp. This is a great opportunity to live in a traditional Kazakh dwelling, try a healing drink koumiss, go horseback riding and get into the spirit of the nomadic people.

The Kolsajsky State National Park is a small highland with a necklace of the Tien Shan Spruce (the Shrenka) (which is over 25 million years old) forests, with deep gorges, rough rivers and springs with the cleanest water, mountain peaks, glaciers and crystal lakes.
