Talgar is a small town located in the southeast of Kazakhstan, about 20 km away from Almaty.
Talgar is located in a picturesque place at the foot of spurs of the Tien Shan Mountains - Zailiysky Alatau.
Local mountains are unique in both the beauty, and flora and fauna.
For example, slender spruce-candles (the Shrenka or the Tien Shan Spruce), growing there, are strictly precinctive, they survived only along the northern slopes of the Tien Shan.
It is surprising, but even now it is possible to meet snow leopards in the Talgar Mountains; the world population of this animal is estimated in hundreds!
